CONGRATULATIONS TEGAN OSWALD!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to TEGAN OSWALD who has been accepted into Ed5 International (SYDNEY) Tegan auditioned in Sydney on Sunday 26th September!! Tegan was up against over 200 applicants!!! ABOUT Ed5 INTERNATIONAL (www.ed5international.com.au) ED5INTERNATIONAL's full time Performing Arts course is an intensive 1 year course preparing students for successful careers in the performing arts industry - under the guidance of Australia’s top professional performers, choreographers and directors. The course is youth allowance approved and accredited by the NSW Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board and the Australian National Training Authority. Scholarships are available. Graduates are issued a Certificate IV in Performing Arts. Second year graduates are issued a Diploma in Performing Arts. Our graduates are now performing in major Australian musicals, international tours & with high profile recording artists. ABOUT TEGAN'S AUDITION "my audition started off with an interview with one of the directors of the school. My interview went for about 20 minutes where i was asked what i wanted to get from the course and why i chose ED5 International. I was also asked how my bestfriend would describe me in 3 words and i said, Passionate, Caring and Driven. I also had to sing a song in my interview and i sang hurt by christina aguilera. we talked more about what the school has to offer and she was also interested in some of my past including living in switzerland and my family. after the interview the dance section began.... we began with tap where we split into three groups. beginner, intermediate and advance. they taught us about 32 counts.next was the ballet where we did barre work and then split into groups to do centre work. we then did jazz where we were taught a piece from hair spray. by the end of the day i was exhausted and we finished up with a wrap up talk by the audition panel which were the two directors" and only 3 days later...... TEGAN RECIEVED NOTIFICATION THAT SHE WAS ACCEPTED!!!! So.. WHATS NEXT FOR TEGAN?? Tegan starts at Ed5 International on 31st Jan 2011. "ill be doing different styles of dancing, private singing lessons as well as group vocal training, acting, acrobatics. ill also be doing safe dance, nutrition and exercise, history of musical theatre, image management, CV prepartion, audition technique and agency lecture. during my first week i'll be told what major i'll be doing. there's either dance major or vocal major. they are basically the same course with a either an extra 3 hours of dancing a week if its dance major or an extra 3 hours of singing a week if its vocal major" So girls!!! REMEMBER TO ALWAYS REACH FOR THE STARS.. TO CHASE YOUR DREAMS.. BECAUSE DREAMS REALLY DO HAPPEN!!! Some advice from Tegan.... "if your passionate about something work hard for it and have confidence in yourself. anything is possible if you believe in yourself, truly work for your dreams and stay positive....the day i recieved my acceptance letter was without a doubt the best day of my life. i cried and cried because i couldnt believe it and i just feel so lucky and so unbelievably happy that every week for me next year will be like a new week in heaven"" So!!! REMEMBER TO ALWAYS REACH FOR THE STARS.. TO CHASE YOUR DREAMS.. BECAUSE DREAMS REALLY DO HAPPEN!!!

DANCE IN THE SUMMER

As we preapre for a big term of dance it is really important that students come prepared for dance. As we approach the summer months we are faced with potential health issues as we dance in the heat. Young children cannot regulate their body temperature as well as adults can. Students may be faced with potential health risks such as headaches and fainting if they are not hydrated. To ensure all students are prepared for classes we suggest the following guidelines;

1. Wear correct dance attire appropriate for the weather(FOR SUMMER: Shorts or tights and t-shirt for jazz, hip hop, tap, stretch and contemporary. Leotard, stockings and a ballet skirt or shorts for ballet).

2. Bring a Water bottle!!!! You must keep hydrated in the summer months. Especially if you are coming to dance straight after school.

3. Make sure you eat a light snack such as a banana or muesli bar before coming to class.

LADIES!!!!! ITS TIME TO ZUMBA!

Most of you would have heard the latest fitness craze that is taking the world by storm..... ZUMBA!!! Come along to try Zumba!Some of you may already have taken a Zumba class with Leesa on a Thursday.... It is now on every TUESDAY at 6.30pm at our studio - Anglican Church Hall.
