HAIR AND MAKE- UP NOTES

NOTES HANDED OUT WEEK COMMENCING 16th NOVEMBER HAIR & MAKE UP DETAILS - MONDAY CLASSES MAKEUP 5 YEARS AND UNDER- Parents use your discretion. Lipstick and blusher will be sufficient but ensure it is bright as the lights are very strong and can wash out those gorgeous little faces and we really want to see those beautiful smiles. BOYS- Hair in own funky style. Make up at own discretion and depending on child’s fairness. Blusher or bronzer usually sufficient. 10 YEARS AND UNDER- Foundation, powder, blusher, white/cream eye shadow as base for eye, eye socket shaded with mauve eye shadow, black eye liner (white pencil as highlighter) black mascara, hot pink lipstick. 12 YEARS AND UNDER- Makeup as above with option to wear false eyelashes. Students please ensure you wear white, nude colour or plain underwear under costuming. HAIR & OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH GROUP AS FOLLOWS; Please note that all hairstyles will need to be slicked back from face. The best technique is to use a fine tooth comb on damp hair and gel and hairspray to smooth hair and fringes off face. Please ensure you use hair bands in matching hair shade or clear elastic bands. Students with hair accessories please ensure that these are pinned firmly. Hats, hair ties and hairpieces need to be pinned thoroughly. NEWSLETTERS HANDED OUT WEEK COMMENCING November 16th

Dress Rehearsals- Friday the 11th December and Saturday the 12th of December Dress rehearsals prepare students in confidence, entry, exits, stage dimensions and other important features of Performance. They are an important and exciting lead up to our Concert. We please ask that you arrive at the theatre dressed and ready to dance to ensure all students have plenty of time on stage to feel prepared for the big day! Dress Rehearsals are held at the Civic Theatre (cnr of Lords Place and Byng Streets) Please enter and exit the building using the back stage door via the car park to the rear of the building on Lords Place. Parents of students 6 years and under may accompany children and wait in the Green room (option to leave also), but it is theatre regulations that no one other than performers may enter the building. We will have a staff member at the back stage door to mark off names and direct students. Please note: All rehearsals in the lead up to Concert are CLOSED to observers and this is a condition stipulated by Theatre Management. Entry for performers for both Dress Rehearsal and Concert is strictly via Back stage door. A separate note explaining Concert Day Organisation will be given to students throughout wk 9. Our Dress Rehearsals are complete stage, audio and technical rehearsals. HAIR, MAKE UP & COSTUMING IS REQUIRED for lighting and staging purposes as well as photography. Thank you for your co-operation. We really appreciate your efforts in ensuring your children; our star performers look their absolute best for the rehearsals and show. Please pack a drink bottle and quick snack (if you are at the theatre for an extended period). Make sure you double check at the end of the rehearsal if you have collected your costumes and any accessories. It is very hard to keep track of lost property between rehearsals and concert. We are busy coordinating back stage organisation to allow for supervision and collection times for both concerts, this will allow for drop off of students for the concert that parents will not be watching eg. family watching the 11am but dropping off and collecting for the 4pm show etc. Our 2015 Presentation will take place on stage following the 4pm show. There will be a presentation at the end of the 11am performance for Angelina Ballerina students only performing in the 11am show. Wow, what an eventful and exciting year this has been, with a lot more to be squeezed in before its completion. In anticipation of this we have outlined some important dates and information relating to Concert, Please keep these notes handy for reference. We will keep a copy of all notes in the foyer and on our website also. Just a reminder that students are required to pay a deposit of $30 per costume ( students will require a deposit for each class they are enrolled in.) Our costumes are budgeted at $60 ( we try very hard to come in under budget for a lot of costumes, as you can imagine, this is getting harder every year. Just a reminder that we have a number of outstanding costume deposits due. If you have not done so already, please hand this to your teacher in a clearly marked envelope. Dress Rehearsals will be held on Friday 11th December and Saturday 12th December at the Civic Theatre. Timetables will be available week 4. Costume collection will take place during class within week 9 of this term. Term 4 fee’s are due this week (week 2), Aaron will be in the foyer from 4:15pm- 6:15pm Monday 12th Oct and Tuesday 13th Oct and Saturday 17th Oct (week 2).
