HAIR AND MAKE- UP NOTES

NOTES HANDED OUT WEEK COMMENCING 16th NOVEMBER HAIR & MAKE UP DETAILS - MONDAY CLASSES MAKEUP 5 YEARS AND UNDER- Parents use your discretion. Lipstick and blusher will be sufficient but ensure it is bright as the lights are very strong and can wash out those gorgeous little faces and we really want to see those beautiful smiles. BOYS- Hair in own funky style. Make up at own discretion and depending on child’s fairness. Blusher or bronzer usually sufficient. 10 YEARS AND UNDER- Foundation, powder, blusher, white/cream eye shadow as base for eye, eye socket shaded with mauve eye shadow, black eye liner (white pencil as highlighter) black mascara, hot pink lipstick. 12 YEARS AND UNDER- Makeup as above with option to wear false eyelashes. Students please ensure you wear white, nude colour or plain underwear under costuming. HAIR & OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH GROUP AS FOLLOWS; Please note that all hairstyles will need to be slicked back from face. The best technique is to use a fine tooth comb on damp hair and gel and hairspray to smooth hair and fringes off face. Please ensure you use hair bands in matching hair shade or clear elastic bands. Students with hair accessories please ensure that these are pinned firmly. Hats, hair ties and hairpieces need to be pinned thoroughly. NEWSLETTERS HANDED OUT WEEK COMMENCING November 16th

Dress Rehearsals- Friday the 11th December and Saturday the 12th of December Dress rehearsals prepare students in confidence, entry, exits, stage dimensions and other important features of Performance. They are an important and exciting lead up to our Concert. We please ask that you arrive at the theatre dressed and ready to dance to ensure all students have plenty of time on stage to feel prepared for the big day! Dress Rehearsals are held at the Civic Theatre (cnr of Lords Place and Byng Streets) Please enter and exit the building using the back stage door via the car park to the rear of the building on Lords Place. Parents of students 6 years and under may accompany children and wait in the Green room (option to leave also), but it is theatre regulations that no one other than performers may enter the building. We will have a staff member at the back stage door to mark off names and direct students. Please note: All rehearsals in the lead up to Concert are CLOSED to observers and this is a condition stipulated by Theatre Management. Entry for performers for both Dress Rehearsal and Concert is strictly via Back stage door. A separate note explaining Concert Day Organisation will be given to students throughout wk 9. Our Dress Rehearsals are complete stage, audio and technical rehearsals. HAIR, MAKE UP & COSTUMING IS REQUIRED for lighting and staging purposes as well as photography. Thank you for your co-operation. We really appreciate your efforts in ensuring your children; our star performers look their absolute best for the rehearsals and show. Please pack a drink bottle and quick snack (if you are at the theatre for an extended period). Make sure you double check at the end of the rehearsal if you have collected your costumes and any accessories. It is very hard to keep track of lost property between rehearsals and concert. Wow, what an eventful and exciting year this has been, with a lot more to be squeezed in before its completion. In anticipation of this we have outlined some important dates and information relating to Concert, Please keep these notes handy for reference. We will keep a copy of all notes in the foyer and on our website also. Our costumes are budgeted at $60 ( we try very hard to come in under budget for a lot of costumes, as you can imagine, this is getting harder every year. Just a reminder that we have a number of outstanding costume deposits due. If you have not done so already, please hand this to your teacher in a clearly marked envelope. Dress Rehearsals will be held on Friday 11th December and Saturday 12th December at the Civic Theatre. Timetables will be available week 4. Costume collection will take place during class within week 9 of this term. Term 4 fee’s are due this week (week 2), Aaron will be in the foyer from 4:15pm- 6:15pm Monday 12th Oct and Tuesday 13th Oct and Saturday 17th Oct (week 2). WELCOME 2015

Dear Stepping Out Students & Families, We trust that you have had a Wonderful Christmas and are enjoying your holidays. Congratulations on your outstanding performance in our 2014 Concert “IMAGINATION". We were so incredibly proud of this production and all of your spectacular efforts. We can’t wait to see where 2015 will take us. Thank you so much for the incredible feedback we have received. Each New Year presents us with so many exciting possibilities and opportunities. Our delightful Little Stars Department, incorporating the Angelina Ballerina Academy continues to grow and we are very excited to be able to present you with more opportunities for your little people to learn and shine. Classes for 2015 will commence on Monday, 2nd February. Enrolments for 2015 will take place at our studio, 217 Summer Street on Wednesday the 14th January, 4pm- 7pm and Saturday, 17th January 10- 12pm. We are so looking forward to seeing you all. If you will not be in town on this day we would ask that you would still indicate your intention to enrol by this date. Enrolment forms will this year be available at our Enrolment Day or online at our website. If you are going to be away on this day, please email us or check our website for our online enrolment and payment facility. We ask that your enrolment fee of $25 per individual or $30 per family is paid on Enrolment Day to secure your place. We will also be offering a 10% Early Bird Discount for any student wishing to pay their Term 1 fees at our Enrolment Days. Methods of payment available on this day include cash, cheque and credit/ eftpos facilities. There will also be comprehensive handbooks available at our Enrolment Days outlining everything you need to know about Stepping Out Dance Factory and these are invaluable to our new families. The Timetable for 2015 is now on our website www.steppingoutdance.com.au . We are also asking for students to indicate interest in Eisteddfod participation by this date. If you are interested in being involved in Solo or Troupe work please ensure that you let the faculty know at Enrolment. We are hoping to offer Performance groups for all ages across all dance styles. We strongly encourage our students to consider being a part of an Eisteddfod Performance Group in 2015 as this provides lots of fabulous opportunities for students to develop their skills, form friendships and have FUN. Private Lessons are available during the summer holidays. Please contact Leesa on 0411295538 if you would like an early start to your routines for the year. Classes for 2014 include Classical Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Stretch, Tap, Little Stars Ballet & Jazz( we can not rave enough about the wonder of the Angelina Ballerina Programme- more classes will open during the week and during day time slots with interest so please indicate your most ideal time so we can see if we can cater to it) Performance, Modern/Contemporary & Pointe. We will also have a BOYS ONLY class and age specific classes for our Tiny Tots curriculum. Merchandise for 2015 includes delightful Starter packs for the Angelina Programme, Stepping Out tank tops, bags, drink bottles and your general dance wear supplies for very competitive prices. Orders can be taken at Enrolment Day. Don’t forget that your child’s love of dance can be celebrated at Stepping Out Dance Factory’s Birthday parties. Imagine your child’s special day being combined with their love for dance?! Party themes include Angelina Ballerina, Hip Hop Dance Party ,Rock star and other assorted themes suited to your individual child’s interests and dreams.
